The Green House

The Green Corner is a building that will be used to restore documents and paintings. Located net to the Muharraq vertical garden, The Green Corner will utilize specialized techniques and methods to preserve documents, serving as a landmark for the human heritage that reflects the richness of the literary and artistic movement.

The project, which will be one of the sites under the Sheikh Ebrahim Center for Culture and Research, is being implemented with generous support of the UAE as part of the initiatives
launched under the auspices of the Year of Zayed, commemorating the founding father Zayed bin Sultan A Nehyan and in honor of his role in strengthening relations between UAE and Bahrain.

Working under the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunication and BACA, studio Anne Hotrop has been charged with sympatheticcally overseeing the conservation and adaptation of the building to once again play an active role in the city’s community.

while the historic part of the building will serve as staff offices and public counters, a new-to-build exposed concrete structure will hod the mailbones and sorting desks, which will be distributed across the two-storey open space.
